Visa Dance

Well, friends, in a perfect world I will be getting ready to land in Joburg this time next week—after too many hours on planes. In that perfect world, my visa and passport would be back in my hands already. But they’re not. Please pray that I can do a happy dance in the post office in the next 5 days, because I don’t even want to consider what the alternative would entail. I can’t even get on the plane Thursday without my passport, and I would really love for my countdown to culminate in an uneventful arrival in South Africa. So please pray with me to that end :)

What’s on the agenda this week?

Kissing my nephew.

Mini family reunion/farewell.

Tickling my nephew.

Church commisioning/farewell.

Prompting my nephews adorable (and spot-on I might add) animal noises.

Packing, unpacking, repacking to hit the magic weight limit.

Trying to squeeze my nephew in my luggage.

Final small group Bible study.

Going on walks with the nephew.

Taco Tuesday with friends.

Playing tractors with the nephew.

Family dinner.

Reading books to the nephew.

Running last minute errands.

Feeding ice cream to the nephew.

Loading the car, driving to Denver, and getting on a big ol’ plane.

After kissing the nephew, of course. A lot.

Oh, and the post office happy dance will be in there somewhere. I just know it.

And I’m told I’ll hit the ground running, with a week-long, Easter-themed VBS planned for Monday-Friday. Thank goodness I don’t get jet lag :) You could pray for inspired planning between now and then, smooth execution of Bible lessons and activities throughout the week and Spirit-led impressions on tiny hearts in attendance, because Easter is glorious, and full of hope and joy for our sin-stained world. And they should know that.
